BACKYARD BIRDS: A Virtual Field Trip
Laura and Mike Jackson live on the lower flanks of Tussey Mountain in Bedford County, where they manage their 114-acre, mostly wooded property for wildlife and healthy, sustainable habitats. In 2010, they donated a conservation easement to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy so their property can’t be subdivided or developed. As Pennsylvania Forest Stewards, they volunteer to help other landowners to maintain their forests.

Join Laura as she leads a virtual tour of her backyard, featuring native plants, different water features, and a diversity of wild visitors ranging from black bears to nesting black-capped chickadees. Both Laura and her husband, Mike, enjoy nature photography, so the program features photos of plants and animals on their property.
